Calà del Sasso
Built in 1388 by the municipality of Asiago to evade the heavy taxes imposed by the neighbouring municipalities for the communications with the plain, it is a path consisting of 4444 steps, which connects the town of Valstagna with the Sasso di Asiago hamlet, with a vertical drop of 744 metres. It is the longest stair in Italy, ant it is flanked by a ditch in limestone used at that time to transport the timber from the Plateau to the Brenta valley.
