Painted quarry of Rubbio
In some abandoned marble quarries, east of Rubbio, the artist of Bassano Toni Zarpellon has created some very original artistic itineraries. In the first, “the painted quarry,” he transfigured the carved marble blocks with more vivid colors and shapes, obtaining depictions of fantastic animals. In the second, “the inhabited cave,” he has installed about 150 old tanks and exhaust pipes of cars, modified to draw faces and human figures, marked by loneliness and alienation. A third quarry is used as a laboratory to make room for the creativity of visitors.
